  • Develop the arguments for information design as part of product design in Industry 4.0
  • Recognize the difference between information offering and delivery, and learn how to prepare information to be offered
  • Master the concept of molecular information, AKA microcontent
  • Learn the principles of fine-grained contextualisation and apply them to real-world situations
  • Understand how to build a content strategy for volatile contexts
  • Distinguish two kinds of “validity” for information: ephemeral validity for volatile contexts, and persistent validation for durable contexts
  • Examine what we can learn from the COVID19 crisis about information delivery
  • Address ethical questions and issues of accountability, and responsibility for information specialists arising out of these new technologies and the development of a hybrid informational ecosystem

Fantastic training… expertly delivered… every time!

HOW YOU'LL LEARN

Instead of a linear progression over the course period, we do the course as an example of Information 4.0 thinking, showing molecular information that is offered, rather than delivered:

  • Instead of six hour-long sessions, almost all the expository material is provided through “molecular videos” – some 25-30 of them, varying from 4 to 15 minutes in length. They are made available via 2 or more graphical html pages that present different ontological structures for the same set of videos. Students can use whichever suits them best – the ontologies contain direct links to the videos, and students watch in whatever order suits them.
  • You will participate in activities and projects that are found online in the Firehead Trainig Centre. One such activity will be to create a new ontology for the course material.
  • Every two weeks we do an hour-long live session to debate and discuss the material, answer questions, help people with problems doing the activities.

How does an introvert lead? Introverts don’t fit the stereotypical leadership model in management literature. They’re often unaware of their introvert strengths and how to maximize them in the workplace, much less become leaders. However, Cain, Laney, Kahnweiler, and others have increased our understanding of introversion and how it impacts leadership styles.
