Coronavirus: technology and communication are more important than ever

The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is changing the way the world works. As experienced digital communicators, we are here to help you navigate the changes, says CJ Walker, Firehead’s founder and MD.

From hirers to job-seekers, freelancers to permanent staff, multinationals to SMEs – the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is affecting us all. The situation is changing daily but we hope you are all staying safe and healthy as we try to ‘flatten the curve’ together.

Clients – As much of Europe goes into lockdown, we wanted to say, first and foremost, that we are still here. We are still working with employers across the northern hemisphere to fulfil their needs in digital communications recruitment and training. We are agile and can help provide bespoke solutions for unique and unusual situations, such as we have now.

Candidates – Secondly we want to say that now is an excellent time for candidates to register with Firehead and send us their CVs, and also to retrain for incoming new technologies and the future of work. We’re here to help you skill up and find work. We’re also putting together our own new courses in AI-related content and communication. Technology and communication have never been more important for keeping people informed, safe, connected and sane.

What next? – There are big questions and implications for how businesses and their workers – perm, temp or freelance – will adapt to new working environments. There will be short, medium and long-term challenges to navigate.

As digital communication recruiters and training providers, we’ll be covering this in more detail but here is our top line for now:

  1. Coronavirus is already changing the way we work
  2. Future careers may depend on what you do now
  3. Technology and communication is more important than ever
  4. Use this time constructively – review career options and training needs
  5. We are here to help – Firehead has been helping clients and candidates for 13 years and we are going to continue to do that, albeit virtually for now.

We are talking to our clients now about how we can help them navigate these shifts. If you would like to talk over your hiring or training options, get in touch with us today and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
