back-to-schoolWant to improve your digital knowledge – and ultimately your career prospects and pay? Employers are crying out for talent to fill the growing digital skills gap. That’s why we’re inviting you back to school with Firehead this autumn to get e-learning in your own field. We are super-excited to announce the launch of a set of fast, easy and affordable online training courses in digital communications.

We’ve teamed up with Cherryleaf in the UK to offer professional communicators a career opportunity to skill up in a number of key areas. You’ll find more information in our new Training section of the site, but our first three courses are available to join now and complete in your own time. They are:

1. Introduction to content strategy

Learn how to develop a content strategy in 10 e-learning modules that can be completed in as little as one day. Find out more and see a sample of the training on the Content strategy course page. [Update: this course has been replaced by Marie Girard’s Enterprise Content Strategy course.]

2. Technical writer accredited induction

A certificated course covering the basics of technical writing; perfect for newbies or technical authors in need of a refresher. The 14 online modules are accredited by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators. Find out more on the Technical writer course page.

“The exercises were enjoyable and really helped, far beyond simply reading from a book about the tasks involved in the job. And I greatly appreciate all your advice and support.”

3. DITA XML basics

An introduction to single-source authoring, using DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) as the XML technical writing standard. The 10 online modules can be completed in as little as a day. Find out more on the DITA XML course page.

“The course ticked a lot of the boxes for me: good content, good value, and available [online]…”

All our e-learning modules contain videos of the trainer with supporting slides and images, as well as exercises and model answers for delegates to complete and review. It couldn’t be easier. What are you waiting for? Book today, brush up your digital skills and boost your career prospects.

Visit our Training summary page for further help and information.
